Visakhapatnam: A new rental policy will be introduced to generate more income from the assets and land of the endowment department, said Minister of Endowments Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao.
In a review with district officials here on Wednesday, the minister said the endowments department will take whatever steps are necessary to protect the district’s assets.
The minister said the ministry will bring back the encroached lands and fencing them to avoid grabbing. He alleged that the management of MANSAS Trust was not maintained in a transparent manner and that its accounts will soon be audited. Later, the Minister of Endowments mentioned that the land issue of “Panchagramalu” would also be settled soon.
The minister in charge of the district, Kurasala Kannababu, said the endowments department should improve the existing rental policy.
Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao said the government is determined to safeguard the Hindu Dharma and preserve its culture and traditions.
Rajya Sabha member V Vijayasai Reddy said the government should hand over endowment lands that illegally belonged to others.
Members of Parliament, MPs, revenue and endowment officials took part in the review.
