Liberal Victoria Party
Victorian families and small businesses are paying the price for the Andrews Labor government’s lack of a plan with massive tax hikes starting tomorrow.
Dan may have returned, but he has no plans for the Victorians. No plan for a COVID recovery or for the economy.
Dan has no other plan than to pick up the pockets of struggling Victorians to pay for Labor’s mismanagement and waste.
Victorians are fleeing to other states due to the lack of a plan from the Andrews Labor government to hunt our people as the following new taxes go into effect from July 1:
- Rising stamp duties on families who buy a house
- An unprecedented 60% increase in the tax on bins
- A new tax on driving electric vehicles
- Tax increase on betting and Victorian betting
- A 10% increase in fines
Struggling Victorian small businesses that postponed payroll taxes into 2020-2021 are now required to make catch-up payments that they cannot afford.
Victorians commuting to and from work on CityLink will also be hit with tolls that will increase the rate of inflation four times over due to Labor’s questionable West Gate Tunnel deal with Transurban.
Worker property tax increases that affect small businesses and new payroll taxes on jobs will also come into effect in 2022.
The Victorians do it hard. To tax them more now, as they start to pick up the pieces, is just cruel.
The Victorians went through hardships due to the negligence of the Andrews Labor government. We cannot just use these new taxes to do more harm.
As Opposition Leader Michael O’Brien said:
“Dan has no plan for Victorian families or small businesses except to tax them more.
“Work has made Victoria the most taxed state in the country. It is not a badge of honor, it is a mark of shame.
“We are a hard-working state, a community that aspires to achieve and we are raising more new taxes to pay for Labor mismanagement.
“This dream that is shared across Victoria is now threatened by further increases in stamp duties on families who buy homes – a tax increase that Liberal Nationals have pledged to repeal in government.”
As Ghost Treasurer Louise Staley said:
“These taxes crush the aspirations of hard-working Victorians.
“The Labor Party blew up the budget and when work runs out of money it comes after yours.
“Liberal Nationals believe in growing our economy and making Victoria the best place to live, work, grow and grow old. “
