Department Announces Dave Mangun Athletic Scholarship Endowment

The Youngstown State University Intercollegiate Athletics Department is pleased to announce the Dave Mangun Athletic Scholarship to enhance the YSU Athletics Scholarship Endowment Fund.

He has worked on a variety of projects throughout his career, some of which have achieved regional and national fame.

Mangun credits lessons learned at YSU, both in the classroom and on the football field, with providing him with the knowledge, tenacity, and confidence to work side-by-side with teams of renowned engineers and top project managers. Across the country.

After his retirement, Mangun called on his talents and experience with several voluntary organizations.

This scholarship will be awarded to a student-athlete, with preference given to a YSU football player enrolled in the College of College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Preference will also be given to a student majoring in Civil Engineering with a minimum requirement of 2.5 GPA.

“I hope this scholarship will help other students achieve their educational and professional goals, leaving the world a better place for others.”

Paul McFadden, chairman of the YSU Foundation, said Mangun is someone who will have a lasting impact on YSU.

“How generous of Dave Mangun to help impact the life of a student-athlete at Youngstown State University. It’s always great to see the lasting impact this university has on another alumni YSU football player. Dave clearly has an enormous passion not only for YSU athletics. but also the industry in which he has so profoundly excelled. It is with great pleasure and gratitude that I sign this Dave and I look forward to seeing the recipient thrive on and off the court for years to come.
