Endowment to match the 2021 class giveaway up to $ 10,000

Donations to Class 2021 Class Gift, the creation of Penn State’s first-ever Student Access and Equity Fund, will be up to $ 10,000 thanks to an endowment created in honor of a longtime Penn State executive.

The new fundraising initiative is made possible by the Peter Weiler Family Endowment in Advancement and Philanthropy, which was established in 2019 on behalf of the late leader of Penn State’s fundraising and alumni relations team. Donations will be matched until Friday, December 31.

“It’s incredible to see the 2021 class unite to support the Student Access and Equity Fund and the positive impact that this will have on our entire institution,” said Rachel Bruning, President of the Student Philanthropy Network. “This generous game is just another example of our college community’s determination to create the most inclusive and fair Penn State – and that makes me proud.”

The Student Access and Equity Fund was selected in December by the 2021 class as a giveaway. The fund will support people who “contribute to the diversity of the student body” and who unexpectedly need help paying for expenses not covered by financial aid.

You can donate to Class 2021 Giveaway by texting “ClassGift2021” to 41444 or by visiting the Student Philanthropy Network’s Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter pages.
