Environmental Sustainability Alliance calls for survey responses – The Daily Evergreen

Survey data will be used in discussions with the WSU administration on fossil fuel divestment

The one-question survey will be available until November 15.

The Alliance for environmental sustainability sends a one-question survey by email to all WSU students from November 9th to 15th. The header of the email is “Help WSU Get Out of Fossil Fuels!” ”

All students who participate in the survey will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a set of sustainably made headphones. ESA will use the results of the survey when communicating with the university administration.

WSU is currently investing endowment funds in fossil fuels, according to the ESA website.

ESA’s goal is to reduce WSU’s impact on the climate by not investing endowment funds in fossil fuels. This includes modifying bonds, stocks and other capital used to invest in coal, oil and natural gas extractions.

By not investing an endowment fund in fossil fuels, WSU can have a positive impact on the climate, according to an email from ESA.

ESA meetings are held at 5.30pm every other Tuesday in CUB 206. For students who wish to get involved with ESA but cannot attend the meetings, email Mackenna Rowe at [email protected].

Upcoming meetings and events are also posted on the ESA Instagram page. Students and professors are welcome to contact Member of ESA President Stevie Fawcett To [email protected] with all questions.
